Introduction

The Scope Management Plan defines how scope will be established, validated, and controlled. Standard practice ensures work matches objectives without uncontrolled expansion (scope creep).

Scope Statement

Outlines the boundaries of the project. Standard practice: high-level summary of what is in and out of scope.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Breaks project into manageable pieces. Standard practice: hierarchical decomposition.

Scope Validation

Explains how deliverables are formally accepted. Standard practice: sponsor sign-off at milestones.

Scope Control

Describes how changes to scope are managed. Standard practice: change requests via Change Management Plan.

Exclusions

Lists what is explicitly out of scope. This avoids misunderstandings.
